STEP-UP

About the campaign

The STEP Up Initiative (STEP-UP) is a holistic recovery programme that aim to uplift peers to wellness, particularly persons with mental health conditions who do not have a formal diagnosis or do not meeting eligibility criteria for existing structured PSALT Care programmes.

Using the framework of the Tiered-Care Model, STEP-Up aims to support persons under the Tier 2 and Tier-3 categories onto a structured programme where they receive individualised (1-to-1), curated support from a care manager including encouragement to attend support groups and relevant mental health workshops. Peers are assigned recovery buddies to journey with them and will also avail individual counselling sessions to help them achieve mental health recovery and wellbeing, empowerment and social inclusion.

Where necessary, each service user may be supported up to a period of 9 months to assist them in achieving their recovery goals This initiative promotes healthy lives and well-being through an integrated suite of wellness recovery services, including using the 10-Dimensions of Wellness framework, to support individual users in their recovery journeys. The initiative also truly builds towards a caring, cohesive and resilient community by extending genuine care for persons seeking recovery and provides support towards building resilience for their mental health conditions. It actively leverages on the lived experiences of trained peer support specialists to individually support fellow peers in the recovery journey, fostering a cohesive and close bond among the peer community.
